New US 31 ribbon cutting set for Wednesday, Aug. 27

You are invited to join Governor Mike Pence, U.S. Representative Jackie Walorski and other dignitaries at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27, as they officially cut the ribbon and dedicate a portion of the New US 31 Plymouth to South Bend freeway.

The event will begin at 2:30 p.m. on State Road 4 (SR 4) at the New US 31 interchange. Limiting parking is available along the shoulders of SR 4, so attendees are encouraged to carpool.

SR 4 closes Wednesday afternoon

SR 4 will close from Old US 31 (now SR 931) to the New US 31 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27. Through traffic will not be able to enter or exit US 31 during this time, but the exit ramps will be open to event attendees only.

New US 31 now open

The New US 31 is now open between US 30 in Plymouth and US 20 in South Bend. Some restrictions will remain on the north end of the project near South Bend and the south end near Plymouth through the end of 2014 as construction continues.
